Excite Lessons

Contributors to Excite

Project EXCITE! is a multi-year, collaborative project between Evanston District 65, Evanston High School District 202 (ETHS), and the Center for Talent Development (CTD) at Northwestern University.  The goal of the project is to begin changing the educational culture in Evanston and help cut into the academic achievement gap that exists between white and students of color in the community.  Students begin the program in the third grade and participate until the ninth grade.  While in the third grade students participate in hands-on science and math activities at ETHS and Northwestern University.  Students begin to take Saturday and summer CTD classes at Northwestern throughout the fourth-eighth grades.  Through enrichment activities, additional classes, mentoring programs, and strong parental support, Excite students will be better prepared to begin taking and succeeding in honors and advanced placement level courses at the high school.  See our brochure for more details.
